Bob Lanphere Jr. is Selected as Oregon's 2012 Time Magazine Qality Dealer of the Year

Bob Lanphere

We are pleased to announce Bob Lanphere Jr. as the 2012 Oregon TIME Magazine Quality Dealer.  The TIME Dealer of the Year Award has been called the most prestigious honor a new-car dealer can receive.  A nominee must be a member of OADA for at least five years and should spend at least 60% of their time involved in dealer affairs.  In addition to exhibiting exceptional performance in their dealerships, TIME Dealer of the Year nominees perform heroic community service and are strong advocates for improving the world around them. Through the TIME Dealer of the Year program, TIME, Ally, and NADA honor outstanding new-car dealers across America and their unyielding commitment to improving their communities.

Bob has been in the automobile industry his entire life.  Being born into a family owned business, his involvement began at the age of 8 when he would sweep the parking lot and fill the candy machines.  He is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and has been since 1964 when his father Bob Lanphere Sr. opened their first motorcycle store.  He is a proud husband, father of three girls, and grandfather of six.  All of whom are involved in the business as well.

Bob is not only a strong family man, but an amazing resource for his fellow dealers.  He is the current president of Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association.  He is also a strong community leader, working on various projects such as street committees, Beaverton Good Neighbor Parade and assisting in the new city in downtown Beaverton.  He feels that his greatest accomplishment has been unifying dealers and the city to be a positive force in ensuring that quality business is offered to the community.  He was also honored with an Outstanding Business Award from the city of Beaverton for his hard work in building new business in the community.

With Bob's dedication to his family, community and industry it's no surprise that his peers nominated him for this prestigious award.  We are proud to say Bob will represent Oregon in the national competition that takes place at the NADA annual convention in Las Vegas on February 4, 2012.  Congratulations Bob!
